Q. What services do you offer?
A. Charlotte Dog Walker provides in-home pet sitting and dog walking services throughout the South Charlotte and Uptown area. This means our pet sitters come to your home to provide pet and home services - ranging from our standard 30-minute visit to our 90-minute visit. In addition, we can attend to mail, lights, trash and plants if you so desire. Belly rubs are also standard!
Q. Who will be coming to my home?
A. Charlotte Dog Walker's priority is the safety and security of our clients, their pets and their property. Our pet sitters go through an extensive background check to give you peace of mind. Charlotte Dog Walker is Insured and Bonded.
Q. Will I have the same person every time?
A. You will meet the owner Tamara and your potential pet care professional at the initial interview. In case of sickness, family emergencies, car troubles, etc. you never have to worry. Tamara or a fully informed substitute will always be available for back up. A pet sitters personal crisis will never be your issue to solve. In the event your dog walker must change, you will have a chance to meet your new walker at your earliest convenience.
Q. Are my keys safe?
A. Our Safe Home Key System includes ongoing use of a company Lock Box when you sign up with Charlotte Dog Walker. Before you leave home, place your extra key inside the Lock Box (or you can keep one there permanetly) and attach the portable box to a mutually agreed upon location. For most professional home cleaning services and all Realtors this is common practice. You never have to worry about a sitter leaving your key at the local coffee shop on the way home. You have total control because it never leaves your property.
Q. Do you offer boarding services?
A. No. According to the American Humane Society, pets are happiest when they are left at home surrounded by familiar sights, sounds and smells where they are protected from stress and potential exposure to illness often encountered at many boarding facilities. Our personalized service allows you to leave your pet in his/her environment and stick to their familiar routine.
Q. Do you offer group walks?
A. No. While it is more economical for companies to walk up to 6 dogs at a time, this is not the safest and least stressful situation for your dog. We only walk multiple dogs when they are from the same household. We take a safer, more personalized approach to caring for your dog.
Q. How do I sign up with CDW?
A. Call or email us. We will call you within 24hrs to schedule an initial in-home "interview". We will be asking info concerning your pets needs and become familiar with his/her routine. If you would like to get a jump start on the paperwork, we can email it to you before our visit. During the consultation we will issue your Lock Box and charge a small refundable fee(see additional charges) for on-going use in our Safe Home Key program.
Q. How am I billed and when is it due?
A. We accept major credit cards, Paypal or you can mail checks to the address on the rates page. Full payment is required in advance- generally 3-5 days before first date of service.
Q. Do you have references?
A. Yes, references available upon request.
There are a few situations we cannot provide service but we can usually refer you to an excellent service/person to meet your needs, so don't hesitate to ask.
